Problem 11: Advent Adventures

Image

In some cultures, advent calendars are used to count down the days until December 25.

Each day there is a flap to open, often revealing a festive image or sometimes a small chocolate!

On the advent calendar above, some of the numbers are missing. Using the following clues, work out where the missing numbers should go:

  • The flaps are labelled with the numbers 1-24
  • The numbers in each row sum to the same total.
  • The numbers in each column sum to the same total.
  • No two consecutive numbers are adjacent to one another (diagonals aren’t considered adjacent).
